Yesterday, Tuesday 6 October, Franck Haise visited the École Notre-Dame in Vezin-le-Coquet to take part in the traditional ELA dictation. The Rouge et Noir manager recited Laurent Mauvignier’s text ‘Je vais courir’ in front of 37 pupils, in the presence of Philippe Levillain, the association’s regional managing director for Brittany.
Although the school is no stranger to running for ELA as part of the “Mets tes baskets” campaign, this was the first time it had taken part in this dictation.

The ELA association, a long-standing partner of Stade Rennais F.C., has been working since 1992 to combat leukodystrophies, rare genetic disorders that mainly affect children.

Philippe Levillain, Regional Managing Director for Brittany at ELA: “This shared experience was very interesting because the pupils had already been made aware of the condition. Franck Haise was a brilliant teacher. He managed to ensure that the children were quiet and worked well. We are very grateful for Stade Rennais’ commitment to the charity. The players help spread our message, thanks to the logo on their shirts, and really give our cause a boost.”

Thierry Caudray, headteacher of École Notre-Dame: “We were delighted to welcome Franck Haise and Philippe Levillain. The coach could almost have a qualification in setting dictations (laughs). He was brilliant with the children; it really was a wonderful experience. We hope it will happen again.”
