A hard-fought victory:

“In a derby against a team playing for a different but very important cause, and one that hadn’t been rewarded for a while, all the ingredients were there for a tough match. We didn’t press hard enough in the first half. I don’t know why. You might think we’re the better side. We attack well, we cause problems straight away, but as soon as we ease off, it gets complicated. We put a lot into the first ten minutes, but we were still up against a Ligue 1 side. We pushed hard at the end; we had to. We’ve got things to work on. ”

Valentin Rongier on the winning goal:

“He was very happy for the squad and his club, Stade Rennais F.C., but he can’t forget where he came from. It’s a special feeling for him, but that’s football.”

The winning streak:

“Eight wins from ten matches, with a small lead over Monaco, we’re right in the thick of it. There are still three difficult matches to go to achieve the club’s objective. There’s excitement about playing them. We have a lot of ambition but also a lot of humility regarding this match. The match against Lyon will be difficult, as will the other two. Against OL, we’ll have to be much better.”
