Post-match thoughts:
“There are reasons to be pleased. The players have shown that the system was worth a try. You can tell it brings us solidity; it also frees up certain players. We’re always managing to create chances. Even though we won 3–0, Strasbourg are a very good side, as we saw against Paris. After the Juventus game this week, this is a positive result. Football brings questions and answers. We’ll need to provide further answers in Nice, against Olympiacos and Lille. For now, we’ve provided some good answers.”

Boulaye Dia:
“He’s a very intelligent player in his movement, capable of spotting the right areas. Mousa is a threat in deep areas and Boulaye can get in behind the lines to create an advantage; he did that against Juve.”

The three-centre-back system:

‘Overall, I think it’s better for our players who can play as wing-backs. It allows us to see their strengths more clearly and highlights certain weaknesses less. Nagi’ has been growing in confidence recently, and his decision-making has improved too. I’m also pleased for Quentin, who made a good start. We’ll need four wing-backs in good form. Frankie set up a goal. It’s all very positive. I think we needed to make some changes to make the most of our potential. When there’s spirit and character, it helps us bounce back quickly. As a coach, I try to get that message across. It’s certainly satisfying. ”

The points tally:

“Sixteen points from eight matches. That means things can’t be all that bad. We’ll need to become increasingly solid. It’s good to fight hard to keep a clean sheet. I told the substitutes that I didn’t know if we’d score the fourth, but I didn’t want us to concede.”
