Habib Beye (at the post-match press conference) :
« The difference can be explained by the score, the adversity and the balance of power. There's no debating the fact that we deserved to lose, but we lacked everything against a team that showed drive and intensity. We knew that, we had prepared for our match, but we just didn't deliver tonight.
It's a shame that we weren't able to compete, despite the momentum and confidence we've built up with our game and the way we play. We didn't see any of that in that match. I'm questioning myself first of all, the content of our match wasn't good enough against an opponent like that.
We've won 7 out of 11 games with this system. It's not the system, it's the attitude. We'll have time to analyse things in the cold light of day. In my opinion, we should have had the ability to put them to the sword. We didn't make the most of our potential lead.
The team was split in two because it made technical errors and we were exposed. There were attitudes in terms of defensive intensity that weren't good enough in a match at this level. We were always behind against this team. When you look at their squad, they're 2nd or 3rd in Ligue 1 in terms of attacking potential. If you can't stand up to that, you're in for a bad night.
Before this game, we had 21 points from 11 games and were on the same run as Lyon. There was a huge gap tonight, and it's up to us to work to close it quickly. Tonight, there's no debate about the score. This team was 16th three months ago, that's a fact. I want us to compete with that team, and if we don't win it's because we're not yet up to scratch. Rennes were in a lot of pain and we've realigned things, but the traumas are still there. We're together in victory and in defeat, and I've told the boys that we'll work to be better against Toulouse. »

Adrien Truffert (at the DAZN microphone) :
« We lacked a lot of things, whether it was intensity or technique. We made a lot of mistakes and got caught out. We missed some simple passes and at times we weren't together. We got a bit better at the start of the second half, but it wasn't enough. We need to work to do much better next week. »

Seko Fofana (at the DAZN microphone) :
« It's very frustrating because we started the game well. Then the first goal put us on the back foot. We kept playing and there were some good things, but it's difficult to go into the dressing room three goals down. We scored quickly at the back, we had good intentions and their keeper was good too. It's not acceptable to concede so many goals. Lyon were good tonight, a team looking to play in Europe. We've had some good games before and we've built up our confidence, but tonight we're learning. We'll need them for next season. We'll see what we didn't do right.»
