Franck Haise
The coach’s analysis:
“We got off to another very good, promising start. In the second half, we did some good things and were in control. But that’s not the whole story; we need to add that touch of precision. Towards the end, the opposition stepped it up a bit; we let them get in crosses and win corners. If we’d managed to score a third, we’d have really hurt them and the score would have been very different. Efficiency is a key factor in football.
The drinks break changed the momentum of the first half. When you’re leading 2–0 away from home, you mustn’t sit back, but keep defending whilst pushing forward. We were under real pressure in the final quarter of an hour.”
7 points from 3 matches:
“It’s good to come away from here with three more points. We’re making progress. Not everything is perfect, but we managed to hold on to the lead. That’s a positive sign. If we raise our game in terms of technique and aggression, we’ll put ourselves in fewer dangerous situations in future. There are still plenty of areas where we can improve, which is a good thing. ”
The starting eleven:
“We’ve got a run of matches coming up, so I can’t field the same eleven players every weekend. That’s allowed us to give other players a chance, such as Anthony Rouault. He was very solid, particularly in the air. Thankfully, we had a centre-back pairing that was up to the task.”
Anthony Rouault
“We faced a lot of counter-attacking situations, whether in the first half or the second. We would have liked to score the third goal, but we didn’t manage to do so, so they pressed us with long balls and crosses. It’s always dangerous, but we held firm; we were solid. That’s good – we’re coming away with the three points. We know we’ve got a very good team; it’s on the pitch that we have to prove ourselves, to let our actions speak for themselves.”
