A hard-fought victory (3–2)

You needed strong nerves to watch this clash between Rennes and Le Mans, as the newly promoted side really put the favourites, the Rouge et Noir, under pressure on their home ground. The Breton side were inconsistent, but showed just how dangerous they could be when they put their minds to it. It was their first win of the season, secured thanks to goals from Valentin Rongier and Estéban Lepaul (2).
