A late victory:
“This victory came late, but we won, so I’ll take it. It shows that the team is selfless and persevering. Apart from one mistake that we quickly paid for – which only reinforced this predictable outcome – we showed a lot of determination. Our presence in the opposition’s box was better in the second half. Their game plan was clear, so we had to do more. The lads saw it through to the end, with Abde’ making a mistake that actually handed us the win. That’s all well and good too.”

A hard-fought victory:
“We brought on some fresh legs to finish off our chances. We could have wrapped it up earlier with Issa’s header. It still made a difference to wear them down, and we had no choice. We lacked precision at times, but it’s not easy to find the spaces. I think I’ll spot them when I watch the match again. The idea is that we need to do everything a bit better to put these defences under pressure. However, we’re putting our hearts into it.”

Numerous attacks:
“You can’t create any verticality against a team that defends with ten men in their own thirty-metre zone. We had chances, opportunities, lots of shots. Thirteen corners too, I think, and twenty-five crosses. We still need to improve on lots of things; we know that. ”

Abdelhamid, the art of bouncing back:
“As a defender, you have to be fully focused at all times, giving the opposition as little space as possible. After his mistake, he had the strength and character to carry on and go on to secure the win. That proves his quality. ”

Mahamadou Nagida, the catalyst:
“He always maintains his energy and enthusiasm, combined with strong athletic ability. Even if there are small details to improve upon, he’s showing greater control in his decision-making. More control, fewer mistakes, and we’re seeing more and more of his strengths.”

Roazhon Park:
“The atmosphere was a notch above. I hope it’ll be two notches above when we face Olympiacos. One thing hasn’t changed: the tifos are as brilliant as ever.”
