At just 23, Quentin Merlin has established himself as a familiar face in Ligue 1, having already made 105 appearances, scoring 4 goals and providing 10 assists in the French league. Winner of the French Cup in 2022 with Nantes, the left-back also boasts solid European experience, acquired first in the colours of Nantes and then with the ambitious city of Marseille, with whom he will reach the semi-finals of the Europa League in 2024.

This season, Quentin Merlin has particularly distinguished himself by taking on the role of captain of the Espoirs team at the UEFA European Championship in June. A driving force behind the French team alongside Djaoui Cissé from Rennes, the full-back made a major contribution to Les Bleuets' fine run to the final (where they lost 3-0 to Germany). His performances were rewarded with a place in the competition's first-choice team.

With Quentin Merlin, Stade Rennais F.C. have acquired the services of a full-back who is both solid defensively and active in attack.

Degemer mat Quentin !

Mercato 25/26 📖 Chapitre 2 : Le musée enchanté

Arnaud Pouille, Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Stade Rennais F.C.:
« We were looking for a talented and reliable left-back. With Quentin Merlin, we have confirmed the arrival of an excellent French prospect to strengthen our defensive base. In addition to his undeniable sporting qualities, Quentin is a very good team-mate in the dressing room, who is open to others. He's a major asset for SRFC. »

Loïc Désiré, Sporting Director of Stade Rennais F.C. :
« Quentin's tactical intelligence and sheer volume of play make him a real talent. At just 23 years of age, he has already played more than 100 games in Ligue 1 and has a wealth of experience as captain of Les Bleuets. Left-footed and a modern full-back, he has a profile that is rare in our league, so it's great to see him moving to Rennes. »
