In January, Stade Rennais F.C. and Guelwaars, a Senegalese club based in Fatick, entered into a technical partnership. Alassane Niang, a highly-rated striker in the land of the Lions of Teranga, has joined the Breton side as the first signing to emerge from this collaboration. Having played in Morocco before moving to Fatick, scoring 16 goals in National 1 and playing a key role in Guelwaars’ promotion to Ligue 2, the 1 metre 85 forward is making the big move to Brittany to bolster Sébastien Tambouret’s squad.
