France's U17 team fall heavily on debut

José Alcocer's team fell heavily to England on Tuesday evening, losing 4-0 in their opening game of the European U17 Championship. Rennes defender Yaël Thébault started the game but was replaced at the very end. Striker Mohamed Kader Meïté did not play.

The Tricolores will have to respond in their next match against Spain, who also lost 1-2 to neighbours Portugal (Friday, 7.30pm).
