Angers thwarts Rennes' plans (1-1)

Dominant on the pitch, Rennes were overcome with frustration after the final whistle. Not clinical enough in their play, and up against an excellent Angers goalkeeper, Les Rouge et Noir had to settle for a single point at the end of the third matchday. The match had started well, however, with Estéban Lepaul scoring his first goal on his former home turf.
