Stéphane Mbia

Stade Rennais F.C., 2003-2009
Olympique de Marseille, 2009-2012

A midfielder who can also play as a right-back or centre-back, Stéphane Mbia showed his talent at SRFC. A tenacious and robust profile, he joined OM, where he won Ligue 1. A centurion at both clubs, the Cameroonian went on to win the Europa League with Sevilla, as well as being a key member of his national team.

Rod Fanni

Stade Rennais F.C., 2007-2011
Olympique de Marseille, 2011-2015

A true example of pugnacity and tirelessness at right-back, Rod Fanni made his mark at Lens, Rennes, Marseille and Nice, before moving to Montreal. In a Rennes shirt, he established himself as a key player for coaches Pierre Dréossi, Guy Lacombe and then Frédéric Antonetti. The French international - with five caps to his name - is a reference point for the right-back position in the history of Ligue 1.

Mickaël Pagis

Olympique de Marseille, 2006-2007

An elegant player, the striker spent his entire career in France. After Strabourg, where he was captain, the striker signed for Marseille, in a squad boasting a host of attacking talents, from Franck Ribéry to Mamadou Niang. He joined Rennes in 2007. His hat-trick against Lyon left a lasting impression on a whole generation of Rouge et Noir fans.

Romain Alessandrini

Stade Rennais F.C., 2007-2011
Olympique de Marseille, 2011-2015

The Marseille-born striker joins from Clermont after a successful spell in Auvergne. A surgical left foot and a talented winger are the words that could sum up his adventure with the Rouge et Noir. Notable for his sublime goals and call-up to the French national team, Romain Alessandrini signed for OM in 2014 after 60 games with SRFC.

Steve Mandanda

A true legend in Ligue 1 and particularly at Olympique de Marseille, the French international goalkeeper and World Cup winner will be joining Stade Rennais in 2022.
