Man of the match and scorer of a brace against Poland, Djaoui Cissé was a starter in the quarter-finals of the Euro Espoirs. Against the Danes, the Red and Black midfielder shone with a class act before half-time to equalise (1-1). The Tricolores stepped up a gear after the 80th minute with two goals from Quentin Merlin and Mathys Tel (a striker trained at the Stade Rennais F.C. Academy). The result was a 3-2 win.
The French team will be in the last four of the Euro Espoirs, with the semi-final scheduled for Wednesday 25, against the winner of Germany v Italy.
