From Poland to the USA, via the North and Turkey, but also with the Eagles of the national team, Przemysław Frankowski has established himself as a leading player over the last decade.
A solid defender, accurate crosser and skilful finisher, the 30-year-old native of Gdańsk has played 469 professional matches (65 goals, 49 assists). This record is due not only to his talent, but also to his high level of physical fitness, which is particularly important in such a demanding position. Playing at right-back, in a position suited to his skill with the ball and his ability to cover ground, Przemysław Frankowski made a name for himself on French pitches, establishing himself as a pillar of the Artois team between 2021 and 2025. He was even voted ‘surprise’ of the Ligue 1 season at the UNFP awards at the end of the 2021-2022 season.
Sought after last winter by Galatasaray, Robert Lewandowski's teammate on the national team, he enriched his football career with 15 matches played with the Istanbul club and a cup-championship double.
Przemysław Frankowski will therefore return to Ligue 1 McDonald's in a few days and, above all, bring his vast experience to SRFC.
Welcome , ‘Frankie’!
Arnaud Pouille, Executive Chairman – Managing Director of Stade Rennais F.C.:
"I am delighted to see Przemyslaw join the Rennes project. He is a player who has been on the radar of the club's sporting management and recruitment team for some time now. His arrival was prioritised by the coach and his staff.
His experience in the league, as well as his time with the Polish national team, will be significant assets for the team.
On a personal level, having known him well for several seasons, he is an exceptional teammate. Through his exemplary behaviour and determination, he is one of those players who will bring even more energy to the current squad."
Loïc Désiré, Sporting Director of Stade Rennais F.C.:
"This is a wonderful opportunity that has come our way. Having watched him closely when he was at Lens and later with the SRFC recruitment team, now led by Alex Pasquini, I believe that his profile is a perfect fit for the coach's style of play and the philosophy of Stade Rennais.
Przemyslaw is a complete player, technically skilled, experienced, with a great attitude and always focused on his work. Przemyslaw is a sure bet in his position. I am delighted to see him wearing the red and black colours today."
Przemysław Frankowski :
"I'm really happy to be joining Stade Rennais. The club's management and the coach have made it clear that they really want me to wear this shirt. I know how good this team is, with so many excellent players.
I feel good. After working hard with Galatasaray in preparation, I am ready to start with my new teammates. I hope we will achieve great things this season for Rennes."
