"I'm very proud of the team. When you're in a situation like this, it's never easy, especially against OM. We worked for seven weeks to improve our mindset, which we had already established last season. We knew during our preparations that we wouldn't necessarily have possession of the ball, but we also knew that we had the ability to hurt them badly and cause them major problems. We all worked very hard together. The scenario changed with the red card, but we remained focused on our game plan. The opportunity smiled on Ludovic Blas and the whole team, who were almost heroic, I would say, and above all fantastic.

Valentin Rongier's contribution:

"I met with Valentin one-on-one during the week to see if we were on the same page regarding our preparation for our opponent. It was very interesting, and he confirmed that we were going to cause them problems. Regarding the captaincy, I had a hard time imagining the goalkeeper as captain because the immediate communication with the referee has to happen in the heart of the game. Brice is a leader, but Valentin has experience and, in my opinion, fits the identity we want to create at Stade Rennais. He is already a Rouge et Noir, as he showed tonight. Pressure rolls off him, and I am very happy with the role he has fulfilled and the captain he will be, knowing that there are other leaders in the group."

"The team needs to have rhythm and intensity, and not just in their running. Being able to do what we did with ten men proves that the ball moved very quickly. We managed to break through their line of pressure. The goal reflects what we want to be sometimes, a vertical team. All the work we've done over the past seven weeks was visible tonight, but it's only one game, and there are 33 more to play. We need to enjoy this victory, but we'll have to keep our emotions in check to continue working and keep going."

The game philosophy:

"I knew we would have opportunities if we were solid. I said at half-time to stick to the game plan because we would have two or three chances. Ludo managed to put it in the back of the net. There were two posts, so the match could have gone the other way too. What's good to see is that Stade Rennais competed against a big team in this league.
